2018 Wedding Superlatives

I cannot believe 2018 has come to an end already.  It seems like we were just in January of 2018, and here we are December 31, 2018.  I have enjoyed these 12 weddings this year.  All of my couples are extremely special to me, whether it be they had a full package and I spent 8 hours on their wedding, plus engagements and bridal sessions with them, or it was an elopement where it was just one hour.  I have enjoyed corresponding with each bride. I have had some amazing brides this year.  They were all so sweet, gorgeous, laid back and easy going, and had perfect weddings.  I cannot say enough about 2018 and hope that 2019 is just as amazing!

Mr. and Mrs. Upton – superlatives – most easy going bride; runner-up – best beard

This was my first wedding of 2018. This was such an easy going couple that had an amazing backyard wedding. I enjoyed meeting these two and shooting their wedding.  It was a chilly January day, but the wedding was complete with blankets as favors.

Mr. and Mrs. Flynn – superlatives – Best Smile; runner-up – unique centerpieces

I was so excited to have my first brunch wedding.  How exciting is that?! She was so easy going, but had the best smile. She was so excited to marry her prince charming.  This was so amazing. I absolutely loved the details, the fact her mother-in-law made their wedding cake, and they had the best smelling reception due to their fruit centerpieces.  It was such a fun wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Mulchi – superlatives – best vows; runner-up – best backyard wedding

These two were so much fun. This was a super laid back back yard wedding.  I absolutely loved their vows…they were the sweetest vows ever.  They had such a beautiful wedding, and she wore a gorgeous gold dress. I just loved how she made her backyard the perfect place for their sweet wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Bennett – superlatives – most photogenic; runner-up – best dress

Oh how I just grew to love these two! Sami is the sweetest soul that I have ever met.  Our first meeting fell on my first day back at work after maternity leave, so I was going to be a mess.  Her and her mother insisted I bring Cameron, so I wouldn’t have to be away all day and evening.  How amazing?! They were just the cutest couple and I barely had to direct them in posing.  They made my job so easy!

Mr. and Mrs. Snead – superlatives – best first look; runner-up – best timelime for photos

These two were so amazing, as in line with all my other couples.  They had a beautiful wedding.  Skylar had to depend on her mother-in-law to help with the planning, as she is selflessly serving our country.  I can’t thank you enough, Skylar!  They came down for their engagement session, and they were the cutest couple ever! I absolutely had the best time getting to know them and working with them.  The wedding day was no different! Their first look was my favorite and the sweetest.

Mr. and Mrs. Bane – superlatives – best dimples, runner-up – most selfless bride

Maggie has been the sweetest bride since the first time we spoke…there’s a pattern here!! She was so easy going, easy to work with, sweet, excited to marry her prince, and selfless.  We had to reschedule Maggie’s engagements a couple of times, but we finally met up for them and they were amazing.  Her and Kent have the best dimples! Oh my goodness – their kids will not stand a chance to have those adorable dimples.  Maggie had to move her wedding date up and give up some of the things she wanted. It rained so hard on her wedding day, but that didn’t matter to her. She was doing what she needed to do, and her smile shined through amazingly.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel – superlatives – best first dance; runner-up – best out of town venue

When Samantha first contacted me about doing her wedding, I was so excited.  When she messaged me back about moving it to the beach, I was ecstatic.  I absolutely love the beach.  It’s my happy place, so to see these two tie the knot there, it was the sweetest.  They have the most adorable little one, Liam.  Seeing their first dance including their sweet baby boy, it was just the sweetest.

Mr. and Mrs. Runion – superlatives – cutest couple; runner-up – best venue

I absolutely loved these two. They were so adorable! Their photos were so easy to take, as they were just so adorable! Their venue was stunning, in every direction and way.  I couldn’t have been more blessed to have the most amazing brides this year, and Stacy didn’t prove to be any different.  Just amazing, and one of my good friends!

Mr. and Mrs. Osborne – superlatives – Best Golden Hour Light; runner – up – Best Make-Up

Alyssa had all kinds of ideas for her wedding, and they all turned out fantastic.  She had a fire truck, since volunteering at the fire department is something they both do.  A hurricane came through two weeks before the wedding, but that didn’t stop these two from getting married and it was beautiful.  It was cloudy the day of the wedding, but for portrait time, the sun shined like a boss.

Jennifer and Craig – superlatives – Most Intimate; runner – up – Best Elopement

I was so very excited when Jennifer contact me about photographing a wedding at Berry Hill Resort in South Boston. I love that place so very much.  Then to find out, it was an elopement. I love elopements because it gives you so much time for photos, plus they’re more real, as people aren’t trying to entertain guests.  They have the entire time to be just with themselves.

Mr. and Mrs. Moore – superlatives – Best Dance Moves/Party Crowd; runner-up – Cutest Flower Girl

I had so much fun getting to know Brooke and Austin. They were seriously the best couple. Their daughter though, was the star of the show with her adorable smile.  They had the most awesome time during their wedding, and Austin gave Brooke the best dance ever!

Mr. and Mrs. Smith – superlatives – Most excited to be married; runner-up – Best Theme

Tiffany was again, the sweetest bride. She had a beautiful Christmas themed wedding at Cooper’s Landing in Clarksville, Va. It was beautiful and she was extremely excited about the decor for this time of year.  She was extremely sweet and so grateful of everyone that worked to make her day special. She cried so many happy tears.  She was so excited to marry her prince.

Thank you, all, for trusting me with your special day! I absolutely loved them alllll! A few honorable mentions include:

Amazing Florals:

Most Rainy Wedding Day, but handled it like a pro:

Prettiest Robes/Most adorable bridesmaids photos:

Most pregnant bridesmaids, with one being due day of the wedding:

Best Blings:

Best desserts:

Best DIY (groom made cake stand/bride made cake):

Most emotional dance:

EEEKKK How fun was that?! I cannot wait until 2019. This year is going to be just as exciting, and I cannot thank these girls enough for trusting me with their special day!

xoxo,

Brandy
